RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The Southland Conference (SLC) announced on Monday that The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball senior forward Charlotte O'Keefe has been named the SLC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.  
 
O'Keefe had another big week recording two double-doubles, extending her streak to five in a row and improving her season total to 10, to lead UTRGV to a 2-0 week on the road. O'Keefe's efforts helped the Vaqueros extend streaks of six consecutive wins and eight wins in a row on the road. 
 
The senior averaged 15.5 points per game, 14 rebounds/game, 3.5 assists/game and two blocks/game. With her four blocks on the week, O'Keefe brought her career total to 134, breaking the UTRGV program record. 
 
O'Keefe dropped 17 points with 12 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and one steal to lead the Vaqueros to a comeback victory at Nicholls on Thursday. She scored 16 points with 14 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal at New Orleans. She was solid defensively, helping UTRGV to stifle its opponents and earn key wins to lift the Vaqueros to second in the conference. 
 
O'Keefe leads the conference in six stat categories and is second in two more. She is ranked in the top 20 in the nation in all four rebounding categories and is top 50 in seven categories:

The Vaqueros will be back at the UTRGV Fieldhouse Thursday to face Lamar in a key SLC game at 6:30 p.m. to kick off #RallyTheValley Week, presented by McAllen International Airport.
