Fall 1996: Fired a 222 en route to a 23rd-place tie at the UTPA Intercollegiate Golf Classic... Shot a low round 72 at the Grand Canyon University Invitational finishing in a 25th place tie... Competed in four tournaments and compiled a 77.5 stroke average. 

As a Junior: (1995-96): Competed in 10 tournaments and compiled a 78.6 stroke average... Earned a tie for 9th place tie on rounds of 73, 75, and 78... Fired a three round total of 224 at the UTPA Intercollegiate Classic.. Tied for 16th place at the Lu Ellen Gibbs Fall Invitational...

As a sophomore (1994-95) posted second lowest team stroke average of 76.8... Competed in 10 tournaments... Shot a career low of 70 in the final round of the UTPA Intercollegiate Classic to finish in a tie for 27th place... Fired a 75, 78, and 78 en route to a 10th place tie a the Rice/Columbia Lakes Invitational... Shot a 223 to finish in a tie for 7th place at the Sun Belt Conference Championships.

As a Freshman (1993-94): Played in nine of 10 tournaments, finishing in top 30 four times... Finished second on team with 78.2 stroke average... Shot season best round of 73 in final round at UT-Pan American Classic and twice at Sun Belt Conference with rounds of 76, 75, and 73... Had rounds 75, 73, and 73 to finish tied for 23rd at Sun Belt Championship... Voted university's top male freshman student-athlete.

Vista Hermosa High School: High school did not have a golf team... Excelled in district inter-club tournaments representing club La Hacienda... Had low round of 66 as amateur... Represented Mexico in World Junior Optimist Golf Tournaments in San Diego in 1992.
