Fall 1996: Placed 19th overall at the UTPA Intercollegiate Classic with a total of 227... Shot rounds of 75, 75, and 77 to finish in a tie for 58th place at the Grand Canyon University Invitational. 

As a sophomore (1994-95): Shot a 232 at the UTPA Intercollegiate Classic and tied for 67th place... Collected a two round of 158 at the Sammons Invitational... Competed in five tournaments. 

As a freshman (1993-94): Played in eight tournaments... Was seventh on team with 81.4 stroke average... Shot career-low 72 in final round of UT-Pan American Classic... Finished tied for fifth at UT-Pan American Classic after shooting 75, 75, and 72... Had seven of 20 rounds in the 70's 

Memorial High School: Earned first team All-District 31-5A honors as a junior and senior... Led team to District 31-5A championships as sophomore and runner-up finish as freshman and junior... Team finished third in Region lV Championship as a sophomore... As a senior, shot a 143 to tie for first place in Kingsville Invitational.. Low round was 68... Team Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior.

Personal: Son of Manuel and Lydia Hernandez of McAllen, Texas... Born January 20, 1975 in McAllen... Majoring in business with plans to attend law school after graduation.
