Outdoor - The UTPA sophomore notched his best finish of the season at the Border Olympics where he cleared a height of 15-0 en route to earning runner-up laurels in the pole vault... Indoor - Gonzales won his first collegiate meet in the pole vault at the Wes Kittley Invitational where he cleared a height of 15-1... finished sixth overall at the UH/RunSports All-Comers Meet where he cleared a height of 14-11 in the pole vault... finished 17th overall at the Houston Indoor Classic with a height of 15-1.

2005
Outdoor - Gonzales recorded his best finish of the outdoor track and field season at the Houston Invitational by clearing a height of 15-1... notched a third-place finish at the Angela Proctor Classic after clearing a height of 15-1... collected a pair of fourth-place finishes at the Spira Invitational and Texas Invitational where he tied a personal-best of 15-1 in the pole vault.

Los Fresnos High School
Gonzales holds the program record in the pole vault, clearing 15-0 during his senior season at Los Fresnos High School... finished third at the regional meets as a junior and senior and was fifth during his sophomore season... earned three letters for the Falcons in his prep career... was a member of the football program.

Gonzales is the son of Salvador and Olga Gonzales... has one sister - Michelle... was born on May 15, 1986... is majoring in physical therapy.
