Cross Country - Keating earned his third All-American honor after he finished a program-best fifth at the 2005 NCAA Division I National Championships with a time of 28:38.10, which was the third fastest time in program history... was the first UTPA runner to win the NCAA Division I Regional Championships in Waco, TX, with a time of 29:30.07 in the 10,000 meters, which was the second fastest time in program history... was named an All-Region selection for the third time in his career... finished third overall in three meets, including the Pre-Nationals Meet in the 8,000 meters with a time of 23:43, which was the fastest time in program history... was third in the 8,000 meters at the Cowboy Jamboree with a time of 24:53.00, which was the seventh fastest time in program history... was third overall at the Rice Invitational in the 6,000 meters with a time of 17:21.07... Outdoor - The UTPA junior captured one individual championship during the outdoor season in the 1,500 meters at the Border Olympics finishing with a time of 3:51.61, which was the second fastest time in program history... finished second in the 1,500 meters at the Houston Invitational with a time of 3:55.46... posted a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters at the Rice Bayou Classic with a time of 14:09.06 in the 5,000 meters, which set a program record in that event... earned a berth to his second outdoor regional championships where he placed eighth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:22.07... Cross Country - Keating was named the Independent Runner of the Year for second consecutive season, winning the Independent Championship for the second straight season... finished the race with a time of 25:12.00 to claim the crown... garnered All-American honors by finishing sixth at the NCAA Division I National Championships with a time of 29:30.40 during the 10,000-meter race... was third at the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional Championships, recording a time of 30:13 in the 10,000 meters... won both the Chili Pepper 10K Invitational with a time of 29:25.88, which set a program record in the 10,000 meters... claimed the Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Splash with a time of 24:27 during the five-mile race... was named Independent Runner of the Week for his efforts... finished ninth in the Lobo Invitational with a time of 25:11... Indoor - Keating broke the program record during the 2003 indoor track and field season in both the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters... captured the program record in the 3,000 meters with a mark of 8:16.82 at the Houston Indoor Invitational en route to finishing runner-up in the race, which set a program record in that event... claimed the record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:26.05 at the Alex Wilson Invitational as he finished ninth overall... won the Houston Indoor Classic in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:32.79, which was the fourth fastest time in program history... was second at the Houston Indoor Opener with a time of 8:40.05 in the 3,000 meters.

2002
Cross Country - Keating picked up his first All-American crown by placing 25th at the NCAA Division I National Championships... captured the Independent Runner of the Year award for the first time in his career... captured individual championships at the UTSA/Whataburger Invitational and Independent Championships... was among the top four in every meet he participated in prior to the national championships.

High School
Keating was one of the best runners to come out of the Rio Grande Valley, capturing the Texas 5A state championships in the 3,200 meters with a time of 9:10.72... won the district and regional championships in that event during his senior season... finished sixth at the Foot Locker South Regional with a time of 15:13.00... collected a 25th-place finishing at the Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships... earned fourth-place honors as a senior at the state championships and was runner-up at both the district and regional championships.
