Outdoor - Martzall concluded his junior season with not only controlling the UTPA record books in the pole vault, but also earning a trip to the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional Championships held at Texas A&M... finished 13th overall despite breaking his own school record with a leap of 16-5.25... won two individual championships and claimed runner-up honors on three occasions... won the Angela Proctor Classic for the third consecutive year with a leap of 15-5.75... won the Rice Twilight with a 15-7 performance... was runner-up at the Border Olympics (15-6), Whataburger/UTSA Relays (15-7) and Tom Tellez Invitational (15-11)... Indoor - Martzall participated at the Houston / RunSport All-Comers where he placed fifth with a leap of 14-11 in the pole vault... Classroom - Martzall was named to the UTPA Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll for the third consecutive year along with earning United States Achievement Academy All-American Scholar accolades... recognized as a Dean[apos]s List First Honors recipient during the fall semester and Dean[apos]s List Second Honors in the spring... garnered Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors during both semesters.

2003
Outdoor - During the 2003 outdoor season, Martzall claimed three individual crowns in the pole vault... won the Angela Proctor Classic for the second consecutive season with a leap of 15-7... recorded a season-best of 16-0 at the UTPA Open, which allowed him to both win the tournament as well as qualify for the regional championships... was first at the Javelina Relays where a mark of 15-10... finished third at the Michael Johnson/Southwestern Bell Classic, recording a leap of 15-1... Indoor - Martzall set a program record during the indoor season at the Houston Indoor Classic with a mark of 16-0.75, breaking a record that stood for 14 years... finished third at that event... notched a sixth-place finish at the Houston Indoor Opener with a leap of 15-5... Classroom - Martzall was cited as a UTPA Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll selection... earned Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors during the fall and spring...

2002
Outdoor - Martzall captured two individual pole vault crowns at the Javelina Relays (14-6) and Angela Proctor Classic (15-6)... was third at the Angelo State Relays (15-6)... Classroom - Martzall earned his first selection on the UTPA Athletic Director[apos]s Honor Roll list... received Bronc Pride 3.0 Club honors in the fall and spring.

High School - A product of Northrop High School, Martzall was ranked 10th in the nation as a senior... finished third in the pole vault at the Indiana State Meet... won the conference championships and qualified for the state meet in each of his last two seasons... jumped over 16-0 feet on three occasions during his prep career.

Off the Track - Martzall is the son of Rick and Jane Martzall... has two brothers - Jason and James - and one sister - Jennifer... was born on Dec. 5, 1981... majoring in marketing.
