Biography

Joey Cole, a big and strong baseball player, 6-6 and 230 pounds, and did double duty for Navarro JC in 1997, where he pleased Coach Skip Johnson as a first baseman and a closer pitcher.     Cole was assume the same duties at UTPA. He might add some designated-hitter appearances to his resume. The Bronc coaches are expecting Cole to have a good 1999 spring, not only with bat, but as a closer, a role the Bronc bullpen often lacked in 1998.     His priority as a Bronc could switch to pitching the Broncs had just 11 complete games and three saves in 50 games last season. He did well pitching and hitting for Nacogdoches High and Navarro JC.    Cole is majoring in business and plans to go into business.
