Summary

Biography

Last alphabetically on the 1997 Bronc baseball roster, Kiki Tervino probably ranks first in pitching competitiveness.     This four-year Bronc beat Norte Dame University on a neutral field when he was a sophomore. He blossomed as a junior to go 6-4. He kept the Broncs close enough to gain a Sun Belt Conference Tournament victory, for which his relief pitcher earned the official credit.     Tervino suffered a bad start to the 1996 season that wasn't his fault. The monitor, McAllen wrote a story about all his bad luck when he started 2-4. He but kept his composure to finish with four straight wins and a 3.94 ERA. He also gained a save.     His real first name is Sigifredo, which explains the nickname Kiki. He is a true competitor. He came out of Pharr-San Juan Alamo HS with three baseball letters (27-6 career pitching record and .541 batting average), and twice was MVP while playing for three different coaches in HS.    Now Tervino wants, like all the seniors, to make his final year at UTPA a memorable one.     He is majoring in Psychology, minoring Kinesiology, and plans to be a sports psychologist.
