Biography

Matt Siskowski came to Texas-Pan American four years ago as a freshman-partly because his HS coach at Gallup New Mexico, Rob Hollis, used to be a Bronc graduate assistant coach. Coaches and scouts see Siskowski's enormous potential. He has lived up to it.     From his first-year average of .256 he has improved steadily until he led the team in batting (and in eight other departments) with a .318 average as a junior.     Siskowski has saved the other infielders countless errors by scooping, stretching and skying to catch wild throws. His batting stats as a junior are huge-62 hits, 17 doubles, nine home runs, 48 RBI, 110 total bases-plus 5-for-5 at stealing.     Siskowski stands 6-2, scales 208. The Broncs couldn't have made the 1996 Sun Belt Tournament without him. The big, skilled southpaw is majoring in Pre-Medicne, while minoring in Chemistry. He plans to be a doctor.
