Rodriguez was a standout in the Rio Grande Valley in both cross country and track and field during her senior season at Harlingen High School... captured the District 32-5A title in cross country as well as the District 32-5A crown in both the one- and two-mile races... was a regional qualifier during her prep days in both cross country and track and field... was part of a high school program that won four consecutive 32-5A district titles in cross country and advanced to the regional meet during that span... was a member of the National Honor Society... served as the Vice President of the Leadership Club and Treasurer of the Track Club... recognized as a Texas Scholar and Distinguish Achievement award recipient... graduated in the top 10 percent of her class.

Off the Track
Rodriguez is the daughter of Jose and Isabel Rodriguez... was born on Oct. 22, 1986... has one brother - Jose - and one sister - Candy... chose UTPA over UTSA and Trinity University... majoring in criminal justice with a minor in anthropology and Spanish.
