After playing mostly outfield in high school, Gary Sorden became a pitcher in junior college... He saw some action on the hill during his high school years, but developed his pitching skills at Navarro Junior College under Coach Skip Johnson, a former Bronc ace.

1999 (Junior Season): Gary Sorden made 17 appearances, all out of the bullpen, for the Broncs... He compiled a 2-2 record in 21.1 innings of work.

Navarro Junior College: Gary Sorden was 2-0 in his sophomore season at Navarro JC... He saved four games and ended the season with an ERA of 2.40 and struck out 24 batters in just 11 innings.

Bowie High School: Gary Sorden was a career .400 hitter at Bowie High School in Austin, Texas, where he lettered in baseball and basketball... On the hill, Gary Sorden was 9-1 during his high school career with a career ERA of 3.70.

Personal: Gary is the son of Ray and Betty Sorden... Gary is joined this season by his younger brother Tommy... Gary is the first Bronc Athlete in 72 years of Bronc history who plans to become a computer programmer and web page designer after college.
