Biography

Michael (Mike) Ruiz is coming off a redshirt year and has learned a great deal. He figures to help the bullpen in middle relief.     Ruiz earned two letters for Coach Ricky Soliz (One of the great Bronc relief pitchers of all time) at King High at Kingsville. Ruiz knows the special skills a reliefer needs to save, hold or win games.     The Broncs, 30-22 in 1997, last at least 10 games when reliefers couldn't hold leads. Ruiz and the other bullpen staff aim to reverse that record in 1998.     Mike Ruiz is 6-2 and 155, He has a double academic major, Computer Information Systems and Kinesiology. He plans to teach computer courses and coach baseball.
