Biography

After red shirting one season with the Broncs, Perez transferred to UT-Brownsville in search of experience... Returned and had a solid season with the Broncs in 1999.

1999 (Junior Season): In his first season with the Broncs Perez hit .261 in 46 starts at bats... Saw action 21 games, including 10 starts... Perez collected 12 hits and crossed the plate six times... Drove in four runners.

1998 (Sophomore Season, UT-Brownsville): Perez batted .377, among the top 25 in the nation among junior college players... He socked six home runs that season to go with his 42 RBI, 12 doubles, and eight stolen bases. 

1997 (Freshman Season): Angel Perez belongs to the strong tradition of baseball excellence in Mission, Texas, just 15 miles southwest fo Edinburg. He's one of four players from Mission pn the Broncs' 1997 roster. He played three games.

Mission High School: Perez earned three baseball and two football letters at Mission High School where he was a three-time All-District, All-Area, and All-Valley for Coach Eliseo Pompa.
