Summary

Biography

Mike Holder contributed to the Broncs; gaining the Sun Belt Conference Tournament (only the top six teams make it) the past two years as an outfielder. This year he is switching to pitcher.     Holder has a strong arm. As a UTPA freshman, he threw a runner out while playing right field to save the game at Western Kentucky that clinched UTPA's spot in the Sun Belt Tournament. Holder, a power pitcher, will resume his pitching career that he began as an All-Valley player four seasons for Coach Jeff Deckard at Sharyland High. He did well in Fall 1997 workouts and will give some innings in 1998.     Holder, 5-10 and 175, is majoring in Biology, minoring in Chemistry.
