High School - Machado earned 13 letters during her prep career at Somerset High School - four in track and field, four in powerlifting, three in basketball and two in volleyball... captured the state championship in the discus during her senior season... won the regional title that year... placed first in the discus and shot put in her last three seasons... was named MVP of the track and field team three times... tossed her personal-best of 139-7.5 in the discus... placed second in the region and fourth in the state in powerlifting... was a first team all-district performer in basketball... helped team win a district championship.

Off the Track - Machado is the daughter of Alfonso and Trudy Machado... was born on Sept. 17, 1985... has two brothers - Al and Christopher - and one sister - Stephanie... majoring in pre-dental and biology.
