Texas Rio Grande Valley Athletics

Guerrero spent 23 years as the golf coach and professor at Pan American College, Pan American University and the University of Texas-Pan American. The Mission native, who played as a teammate of Tom Landry at Mission High School in 1941, retired from coaching in 1992 to become an assistant athletic director at UTPA. Guerrero retired in 1997 and is a member of the All-American Intercollegiate Golf Coaches Hall of Fame and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Fame.
