Strong, talented pitcher who will be counted upon for immediate results... Has been an integral part of winning programs in both high school and junior college... Will likely  be used as a starter in conference series.

(1994 Seminole JC): Posted a 5-2 record with a 0.33 ERA for coach Lloyd Simmons team while pitching exclusively in relief... Led the team to 56-8 record and spot in regional playoffs... Pitched 3 1/3 innings of hitless relief to earn win over top-rank (nationally) Connors State.

Lee High School: Three-time All-District 4-5A selection... Also earned All-Region and All-State honors as a senior after batting .650 and leading the team to 26-3 record and spot in regional playoffs... Hit .484 as a junior and .502 as a sophomore... Team compiled 67-12 record in three seasons, reaching playoffs twice... Was a member of National Honor Society and graduated 61st in class of 476.

Personal: Julian Thomas Urquidez. Son of Thomas and Mary Urquidez of Midland, of Texas. Born on August 21, 1974 at El Paso, Texas. Majoring in pre-law with a minor in international business. Plans to attend law school following graduation.
