Edcouch-Elsa High School: Earned second-team Class 4A All-State honors as a junior and spot on All-Valley team as named by The (McAllen) Monitor as a senior...  Two-time first-team All-Distant  30-4A selection for former Bronc letterman David Kasprzynski... Hit .520 with four homes runs, 14 doubles and 26 stolen as a senior... Led the team with .433 average as a junior while leading team to an 18-11 record and bi-district championship... Also earned All-District honors as a cornerback on the football team and was second in district in the triple jump as as senior... Also lettered in basketball as a senior. 

Personal: Michael Jacob Salinas. Son of Heriberto Salinas Jr. of Hockley,  Texas and Maria Luis Salinas of Elsa, Texas. Born on March 7, 1976 at Edinburg, Texas. Majoring in pre-law with plans to attend law school and become an attorney following graduation.
